To moja pierwsza skończona książka Ranney i powiem tak: jest potencjał, ale warsztatowo jest tak sobie. Bohaterowie dobrze pomyślani, prawdziwi albo potencjalnie prawdziwi, ale autorka niespecjalnie radzi sobie z opisaniem emocji. Z reguły w romansach jest tak, że emocje bohaterów poznajemy przez opis ich myśli, także czasem zachowań, sposobu, w jaki się do siebie zwracają. Tu z tym opisem jest średnio, chociaż autorka dużo miejsca poświęca na opowiedzenie o wewnętrznych rozterkach bohaterów. Tyle tylko, że niewiele z tego wynika. Nie porusza czytelnika, nie wywołuje emocji, tego delikatnego ścisku w środku. Mimo burzy toczącej się w bohaterach czytelnik pozostaje obojętny, owszem zainteresowany, ale nie wzruszony.

Fabularnie Ok, warsztatowo przeciętnie.

Ogólnie 5/10.

Ranney mnie jakoś nie powala. :bezradny:

Czytałam jej dwie książki z innego cyklu i do tej pory pamiętam niedosyt, który po sobie zostawiły.
Nie wiem może to rzeczywiście wina kiepskiego warsztatu, a historie mają potencjał, ale no cóż nic z tego jakoś więcej nie wynika.
Dalej sobie podarowałam znajomość z autorką, chociaż przykro ze względu na szkockie klimaty(w cyklu, który ja czytałam były
