Tym bardziej, ze Devon urabiał się po pachy, żeby dogodzić tej niewdzięcznicy, a ta sobie strzeliła focha, wzięła się i umarła. Powinna go całować po tych poniszczonych dłoniach za to, ze nie wygnał jej na pole do roboty, tylko pozwolił haftować

Najgorsze w tych romansach, kiedy bohater wynosi na piedestał taką beznadziejną kretynkę, która tylko chce leżeć i pachnieć. Tutaj dodatkowo irytującym czynnikiem było, że się od niego odwróciła, kiedy imał się wszystkich legalnych sposobów, aby poprawić ich beznadzieją sytuację finansową
I tak dobrze, że to jego uwielbienie dla niej było wyważone. Nie ma jak u Deveraux, gdzie bohater w zasadzie do końca książki czuje słabość do swojej kochanki-degeneratki.
